29th Parliamentary-Intelligence Security Forum – Artificial Intelligence Affecting Global Security

Professor Jamil Jaffer, emphasized AI as a central driver of both global economic opportunity and national security. He warned that AI’s benefits depend on access to data, compute power, and innovation-friendly policies, while cautioning against overregulation that could stifle growth, as seen in Europe. Prof. Jaffer stressed the importance of trusted, democratic partners in AI development, incentivizing safe and ethical investment, and leveraging AI to empower citizens and nations. He concluded by calling AI the greatest revolution of our time, urging immediate action to seize its economic and security opportunities.
